Lauphi has revealed a new album “The Question of Time”, set to be released on August 22 through Vingolf Recordings / Awal.
New Single Release
The Icelandic-Chinese artist has also shared a new single “Luck” alongside the announcement. “Luck” is a passionate exploration of love gone awry. “I wanted to unveil the sound side of myself – the side that these failed relationships have unearthed within me,” Lauphi explains.
Collaboration and Inspiration
The Grammy-winning artist’s upcoming record follows the “Enchanted” project from 2023 and showcases her collaboration with co-producers Spencer Stuart and Aaron Desner. “Each new album is like an empty book of stories waiting to be written,” she states. “I constantly reflect on the classics and jazz, thinking about how to honor them properly. For this album, I simply wanted to let my heart roam freely.”
“People often anticipate a pretty facade of heartfelt tales and romantic tunes,” she continues. “This time, I was curious to see how I could excavate the most flawed parts of myself and confront them directly in the mirror.”
