Lana Del Rey’s New Inspiration
Lana Del Rey drew inspiration for her latest single “Bluebird”.
Details About The Single
The singer released her new Country Single on Friday (April 18), taken from her currently unnamed upcoming album. She revealed to fans that the song was inspired by a moment when a real bird appeared to her as a sign.
In an Instagram video, Del Rey explained: “I saw someone for a very long time, and for a while, we didn’t see each other. He called and asked if I wanted to take a walk.”
“I was a little excited, but didn’t think it was the best idea. I said yes, started to get dressed, and suddenly, a bird flew into my bedroom window, which shocked me.”
She continued: “I opened a small door and saw it; I think it was a little swallow. I felt so emotional. Because sometimes you just know that something is meant for you—nature has its own way of communicating, especially in tough situations.”
Del Rey added that she took a moment to sing, “-Little bird, blue bird/fly away for both of us”, lyrics that eventually made it into the song.
“I kept singing, and somehow it stumbled and flew onto a small podium nearby,” said Del Rey, before admitting that she ended up going for a walk. “I didn’t really like (how) the walk turned into more confusion,” she added.

“Bluebird” follows the ethereal release from last week (Henry, Henry), the first preview of her new album, which Del Rey mentioned will predominantly feature a country sound, mixed with various genre explorations. The tracklist has yet to be revealed.
The upcoming album, her 10th, was announced last year under the title “the right person will remain,” previously known as “Lasso.” Following the 2023 release of “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard,” this record was initially set for May 21 but has since been postponed, with Del Rey cautioning fans that it wouldn’t “come for a while,” and that it will have a new title by the time it’s released.
“You know this isn’t coming on time, right?” the Grammy nominee mentioned during an Instagram session. “Like, did I even tell you that the name has changed again?”
“Henry, come,” also marks her first solo release in two years, following a collaboration last July with Quavo titled “Hard.” The singer discussed the album with NME in May last year, suggesting that the lyrics will be more straightforward than in her previous works.

“Perhaps I’m less abstract, perhaps more melodic, than in previous songs like ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club,’” she mentioned. “Maybe this will be more along the lines of an American songbook?”
Del Rey had previously stated that the project was set to debut in October of last year. She later shifted her focus to the ongoing anticipation, mentioning she followed her instincts after experiencing a “literal energy pause.”
This summer, the artist is set to embark on a stadium tour across the UK and Ireland, supporting “the right person will remain.” By the end of 2024, Del Rey became one of the top-selling solo artists of 2025, indicating strong demand for the stadium tour.
After announcing massive concerts in Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Dublin, and London, the high demand led to the addition of a second show in the British capital.
