Lady Gaga’s Monumental Free Show
Lady Gaga has announced a historic free concert expected to draw millions of fans to Copacabana Beach in Rio.
Details of the Show
Entitled “Mayhem on the Beach,” the event is scheduled for May 3, marking the first Pop Icon performance in Brazil since 2012. The concert will take place on Copacabana Beach, near the Belmond Copacabana Palace hotel, and is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gaga will take the stage on a specially designed set that showcases her creative vision. The performance will be broadcast live on Multishow and TV Globo, starting at 9 PM BRT (1:00 BST). This event coincides with the launch of Todo Mundo No Rio, a new initiative aimed at emphasizing the cultural impact of entertainment in Rio de Janeiro.

Gaga’s Message to Fans
The Pop icon shared the announcement on her official Instagram, expressing: “It’s a great honor to sing for Rio. Throughout my career, Brazilian fans have been a small force of little monsters. I have been eager to return for years and had to cancel due to my hospitalization.”
She continued, “Your understanding during my healing process meant the world to me. Now, I’m back and feel better than ever. I’m working hard to ensure this is a show you will never forget. Brace yourselves for chaos on the beach.”
The concert will promote her long-awaited seventh album, GAGA “Mayhem,” set for release on March 7, available for pre-order here. This album follows her previous works, “Chromatica” from 2020 and “Harlequin” set for 2024.
Additionally, Gaga has already released three singles in anticipation of “Mayhem”: “Will Die with a Smile” featuring Bruno Mars, “Disease,” and “Abracadabra.” Recently, she unveiled the complete tracklist of the album, which will include collaborations with DJ and producer Gesaffelstein.
Last year, Madonna held a free concert at the same location, attracting an impressive 1.6 million attendees, making it one of her largest shows. According to Reuters, many fans camped out for hours or even days to secure a good spot for the concert.
Similar to Gaga, Madonna’s performance was her first in Brazil since 2012. Copacabana has previously hosted large events, including performances by the Rolling Stones in 2006 and Rod Stewart, who set a world record with 4.2 million attendees in 1994.
In other news, Gaga will pull double duty on Saturday Night Live (SNL) the day following the launch of “Mayhem,” where she will both host and perform.
She also recently confirmed that the much-anticipated continuation of her hit song “Phone” is underway.
