Lady Gaga’s Grammy Speech Background

Lady Gaga shared insights into her speech delivered at the Grammy Award last month, where she and Bruno Mars received the best pop duo/group award for their song “Die with a Smile.”

Supporting the Trans Community

In a conversation with Zeyna Low for Apple Music, Gaga reflected on her role as a trans ally and addressed concerns regarding anti-trans legislation. “First of all, I would say that trans people face completely unfair and wrong circumstances in this world, and they experience violence daily,” she stated. “We must all support trans individuals and recognize that they deserve love, protection, and upliftment.”

During her Grammy speech, Gaga expressed: “I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible. They deserve love. Our community deserves to thrive. Music is love. Thank you.”

The artist continued her discussion with Lowe, noting: “The experiences I face in my life are vastly different from this, and what every oppressed community endures is a unique experience. Every individual has their own story, and each story is distinct.”

Gaga further explored the issue of ageism in the music industry, admitting that she has faced fears about acceptance despite being 38 years old. “Ultimately, I decided that a woman can be strong at any age,” she shared with Lowe.
