Lady Gaga Shares Insights on Her New Direction for Upcoming Album “Mayhem”

Lady Gaga Discusses New Album Direction

Lady Gaga provided insights into the sound direction of her forthcoming seventh studio album “Mayhem,” elaborating on how it distinguishes itself from her earlier works.

Album Details and Collaborations

The album follows her earlier releases, 2020’s “Chromatica” and 2024’s “Joker: Folie a Deux.” Three singles have been released: “die with a smile” featuring Bruno Mars, “Disease,” and “Abracadabra.” Additionally, the album will feature a collaboration with Gesaffelstein.

In a conversation with Zeyn Low for Apple Music, Gaga reflected on the unique characteristics of her past albums. She noted that “Artpop” represented an atmosphere, “Joan” embodied a sound, and “Chromatica” provided a different sonic experience compared to her earlier works.

Gaga described “The Fame Monster” as more chaotic, “Glory” as theatrical pop, and remarked that “Born This Way” encapsulated a metal electronic atmosphere from New York. She emphasized her efforts to embrace “chaos” instead of forcing a specific style onto her music.

In addition to the album launch, Gaga will be accepting the role of musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.” She also announced her first performance in Mexico in 13 years, along with a free concert on Copacabana beach in Rio.
