Lady Gaga Responds to Billie Eilish’s Comments About Enjoying Her Earlier Music

Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish’s Musical Connection

Lady Gaga expressed her thoughts about Billie Eilish, revealing that she has recently revisited her earlier music.

Eilish’s Admiration for Gaga

Eilish shared that Gaga is her current favorite artist in 2024 during her annual interview with Vanity Fair – a series where she answers the same questions each year.

“I listened to a lot of Lady Gaga, like an old Gaga,” she remarked in response to the quick-fire question, “Who is your favorite artist?” “It’s so good. ‘Alejandro’, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Guy’, and ‘Born This Way’.”

In previous years, Eilish had mentioned Brockhampton, Arlo Parks, and even more indie artists as some of her favorites. Gaga took to TikTok to respond, lip-syncing to classic pop hits that Eilish has listed.

Back in 2020, Gaga expressed her desire to mentor Eilish after realizing that Eilish lacked a consistent female confidant in the music industry. She sent the then 18-year-old Eilish flowers with a note following her five Grammy wins that year.

The highly anticipated seventh album, Gaga’s ‘Mayhem’, was released on March 7 and is available for pre-order here. This marks a continuation from the 2020 album ‘Chromatica’ and its companion record “Harlequin” (2024).

Regarding the album ‘Mayhem’, Gaga has released three singles: “Will Die with a Smile” featuring Bruno Mars, “Disease”, and “Abracadabra”. Recently, she unveiled the complete tracklist, which includes collaboration with DJ and producer Gesaffelstein – check the full tracklist of the album here.

In other news, Gaga is set to make a double appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL), the day after the release of ‘Mayhem’, where she will participate in a sketch and perform as a musical guest.

She also confirmed a long-awaited sequel to her 2009 hit, “Phone”, and announced a monumental free show for millions of fans at Copacabana Beach in Rio.
