To commemorate the launch of her latest album “MayHem,” the Pop Icon hosted a press conference guided by her fans. During the event, a fan inquired about her dream employee, whether they be living or deceased.

A Heartfelt Tribute

“I believe it would be John Lennon. He had such a beautiful heart, and I think that is one of my favorite aspects of music history — when an artist is remembered not just for their music, but for their heart,” she shared.

She also showcased her tattoo of the sign of the world on her wrist, explaining: “This sign was located on 72nd street from Dakota, where, sadly, he was taken from us. But the sign remained there every day, and Yoko would place flowers outside. I got this tattoo to commemorate that. I haven’t forgotten why it was there, and I stand for the same cause.”

In a past interview with NME in 2011, Gaga compared herself to the legendary “Imagine” hitmaker, revealing her ongoing struggle to be wholly satisfied with her own music.

“I am constantly dissatisfied with what I create,” she noted. “Even though I might tell you that ‘Edge of Glory’ is a pop anthem, once it’s completed, I still feel apprehensive about it, and each time I listen, I hear imperfections.”

Gaga remarked: “In an interview with Playboy in 1980, John spoke about how he disliked certain songs post-production. They could be my favorites, but he couldn’t bear to listen to them.”

Collaboration and Concerts

In 2012, the “Born This Way” trailblazer received the Lennonono grant for peace from Yoko Ono. Additionally, she performed a cover of “Imagine” at the opening of the first European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, back in 2015.

That same year, she collaborated with Sir Paul McCartney of the former Beatles on a song for the animated film High in the Clouds, based on McCartney’s 2005 children’s book.

Previously, she hinted at their collaboration by posting a studio photo with McCartney and Pearl Jam’s guitarist Mike McCready on Instagram. She reminisced about their partnership, stating, “I will always cherish the moment he called me to work last year, and I initially thought it was a prank!”

The highly anticipated seventh album from Gaga, “MayHem,” was officially released today (March 7) after months of speculation. This follows her 2020 album, Chromatica, and the Joker: Folie à Deux companion record “Harlequin,” released last year.

“MayHem” received a four-star review from NME, described as an album where the “Pop” icon amplifies everything to eleven.

“There is an effortless confidence in how Gaga commits to her maximalist vision, steering clear of modern pop clichés. Many of the tracks hover around four minutes, transforming them into mini-epics in the TikTok era,” the review stated.

“Ultimately, ‘MayHem’ emerges as a quintessential Gaga album, exuding fun. At times, it feels akin to reconnecting with an old friend whose conversation, even if seemingly nonsensical, makes perfect sense,” it concluded. “Seventeen years after her breakthrough with ‘Just Dance,’ Lady Gaga remains the central figure in a beautifully crafted chaos.”

In other news, fans speculate that Gaga’s new song “How Bad Do You Want Me?” may secretly include a nod to Taylor Swift.

Additionally, Lady Gaga thrilled fans in Mexico by announcing her first performance there in 13 years. On April 26, the Pop Icon will take the stage at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, with expectations that she will perform several tracks from “MayHem.”

The concert news followed shortly after the Paparazzi hitmaker announced a monumental free show for over a million fans at Copacabana Beach in Rio.
