Lady Gaga Teases New Album
Lady Gaga seems to tease the text from her upcoming new album “Mayhem.”
Interactive Experience on Official Site
The pop star changed her official site to show a series of floating black letters on an orange background.
When users click and drag their cursor on the screen, random clusters of letters appear, followed by sentences that briefly blink before their disappearance.
One line states: “The spirit is fame and I hope that it will reach your high level.” Another reads: “I am an ideal celebrity.” The third mentions: “I burn the hole right through my eyes,” while another says: “Consider my vein, suck my bloody diamond.” All the visible text suggests that this is content from her new record.
Her seventh studio album will be released on March 7 and is available for pre-order here.
She has already released three singles from the upcoming record: “Die with a Smile” featuring Bruno Mars, “Illness,” and “Abracadabra.”
This follows the releases of 2020’s Chromatica and last year’s Harlequin.
Gaga recently described the LP as “complete chaos,” sharing that its influences include “90s alternative, power pop, Prince’s melodies, Bowie, guitar riffs, funk bass lines, French electronic dance, and analog synthesizers.”
She also revealed that she once contemplated “leaving” music, admitting that in the past she felt “checked.”
Last Friday (February 14), Gaga teamed up with Andy Samberg for an unexpected mix on Saturday Night Live’s SNL 50: Return Home concert.
Originally announced as a performer alongside artists such as Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White, and Miley Cyrus, many fans anticipated her recent hit “Abracadabra.”
Instead, she performed alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Samberg, who joined her in a wig and cowboy hat as he attempted to channel Bradley Cooper on the cover of A Star is Born’s “Shallow” before they later performed the classic Lonely Island track “Dick in a Box,” which debuted during the 2006 SNL episode with Justin Timberlake.
Additionally, the surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Pat Smear – reunited for the second time in two weeks, this time with Post Malone on vocals to perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
