Earlier this month (March 5), Gaga revealed that her new album “Mayhem” was partially inspired by bands like Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead. She noted that the album encapsulates “the influence of 90s grunge, early 2000s pop music, funk, and the 80s.”

Impact of Nine Inch Nails

Specifically, she mentioned that Nine Inch Nails’ track “Closer” greatly influenced her recording process, particularly regarding her lead single “Disease.” On March 12, during an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show, Gaga discussed her album.
