Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars came together for a touching performance of “California Dream” to honor those who suffered from the forest fires in Los Angeles at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

The duet, nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their track “Die with a Smile,” performed a cover of Mamas & The Papas after a poignant video showcased the devastating impact of forest fires on the Los Angeles community during the 67th ceremony last night (February 2). The Executive Director of the Harvey Mason Academy, Jr., confirmed in January that the ceremony would proceed as scheduled, despite the devastation faced by Los Angeles earlier in the year, and would also serve as a fundraising event.

Later in the evening, they received the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration “Die with a Smile,” during which Gaga delivered a powerful message in support of the trans community.

She stated: “I just want to say tonight that a trance is not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The LGBTQ+ community deserves to rise. Music is love. Thank you.”
