A Bright and Pulsating Dance Track

The vibrant dance track features pop lyrics that sing: “I woke up with love / We never had to touch / one night was not enough / I went to stumble in a dream / you are there before me / like love”, capturing the essence of love and yearning for more.

Directed by Minogue’s long-time collaborator Sophie Müller, the music video showcases the hitmaker of “Padam Padam,” dancing amid multi-colored strobe lights in a dark room and rolling on a mattress.

In a press release regarding the Grammy-nominated track, Brazilian music superstar and philanthropist Alock expressed: “In 2021, I remixed ‘I Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ during an energetic set with my brother Bhaskar, and the response was incredible. Now, I had the chance to create something truly unique with Kylie—a bright and electrifying pop ballad. In my opinion, ‘Last Night I Dreamed That I Fell in Love’ encapsulates Kylie’s signature dance atmosphere while showcasing my exploration of sounds that blend different genres.”

Minogue added: “Last night I dreamed that I fell in love”—and I really did! One morning, I woke up with the title and concept for this song… It’s amazing to literally share my dreams with all of you. I had such a fun day in the studio with the talented co-writers, and now with Alock working his magic, I’m thrilled to release this track with him. Happy Valentine’s Day!”

The pop singer released her follow-up to the “Tension II” album in October. Speaking with NME earlier, Minogue referred to the project as “a kind of hybrid” between a lavish release and a new entry, one that “was never intended to be a different volume of work.”

Upcoming Tour Announcement

In other news, Minogue is set to kick off her “Strengthen” tour tomorrow (February 15). The pop extravaganza will traverse Great Britain, Asia, and her native Australia. You can find a complete list of dates here.

While speaking with NME, Minogue reflected on her tour inspired by the experimental phase of her music in the 90s—“Impossible Princess”—and her 1994 self-titled album, stating: “I really want to bring some of that back for the tour.” She reminisced about a previous concert where she performed a “ridiculously long version” of her 1994 hit “Of Course I’m In Love.” “I just thought of this today because I recently watched it, like a few days ago… But (this performance) was a journey, and I would love to incorporate some parts of it into the tour.”

“So, you have ‘Smash, Smash, Bop, Bop, Bish, Bop, Bash,’ but there are elements that feature these 90s experimental vibes,” Minogue teased.
