The artist, boxer, and influencer spoke with NME while on the red carpet at the Brit Awards 2025. He opened up about the significant feedback he received for his single “Tolstoy,” which included both positive and negative responses.

The track featured a collaboration with Trippi Redd and marked his second nomination for “Song of the Year” in the MasterCard category. Embracing the Internet’s Reaction

Discussing the public’s reaction to his nominated song, KSI told NME: “The positive feedback was very minimal compared to the negative! Many people heard the song and really enjoyed it.”

“They mentioned it was on their playlists and that they play it constantly. I know many kids are obsessed with it, and whenever I perform it, it always gets a great response… but the memes! My God!”

He continued: “Honestly, it was funny. There were many hilarious memes, like people who experienced car accidents and woke up just to turn off my song. It was annoying at first, but then I realized that I just have to accept it.”

“The Internet is the Internet; you can’t fight it. You can try, but in the end, it wins. I got a song nominated for a Brit, and I won! Does that mean I’ve won the Internet?”

Looking ahead, KSI mentioned that fans can expect new music soon, including a track he plans to share later this month. “I’m going to release more songs. I actually have a fight on March 29, and I’ll have a new song for my entrance,” he shared with NME. “I’m curious to see if that’s going to happen. I hope it doesn’t. I don’t think it’s meme-worthy. There’s nothing to see.”

“I released DIRTY, and there were no memes with that, so now I know what the level is. It’s either an incredible song worthy of memes or an incredible song that isn’t.”

KSI also dismissed rumors of future collaborations, stating to NME: “I don’t want to collaborate with anyone; I need to make more songs. I’m going to stick to my own path and release music solo—that’s it.”
