KOOKS Unveils New Album “Never/Know” Set for Release in May

New Album Announcement

Cookies has announced their upcoming album “Never/I Know”, set for release on May 9 through Virgin Music Group.

First Single Released

The indie rock group also shared the first single from the album, “I Never Know”, along with a lyrical video inspired by a new novel. “This is a song about love and a sweet encounter with someone unpredictable. I like the idea of them driving in a convertible on an adventurous trip. Because really, you never know,” says frontman Luke Pritchard.

The 11-track album, primarily an independent parable, marks a return to the band’s creative roots. “We’re not talking about returning to the sound of the first album but to the essence of our influences and questioning: ‘What is the identity of this band?’” explains Pritchard. “It was all about letting go of the past. What kind of music do we want to create, and how can we make it feel authentic?”

Never/I Know features contributions from guitarist Hugh Harris, who collaborated with Pritchard to capture the spontaneous energy reminiscent of their earlier work. “At the core, we both desire the same outcome, and that’s incredibly powerful,” shares Harris.

The recording comprises eleven tracks, including a cover of Paul McCartney and Wings’ “Jet,” with all but one produced by Pritchard, while nine tracks were created by J. Lloyd in the Echo Chamber.
