Kim Petras Celebrates Sims Anniversary
Kim Petras has rewritten her XXX track to honor the 25th anniversary of The Sims.
New Track Available on SIMS 4 Pop Radio
The updated version, which originally featured on Petras’ 2022 EP ‘Slut Pop’, is now accessible via the SIMS 4 POP radio station. This release includes Sim! Gigi Perez, showcasing an alternative radio station within the game.
This isn’t the first time Petras has contributed to the “unique SIMS language”; her rice version of “Malibu” was added to SIMS 4 in 2020. The game has previously seen Simlish renditions of tracks from various artists, including Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Lily Allen, and Mxmtoon.
To celebrate the anniversary, EA re-released the first two games of the SIMS series for PC and hosted a 25-hour live broadcast featuring Doja Cat. During her appearance, Doja Cat remarked: “I have been playing Sims since I was nine, and I’ve played (all of them), even in the future. This game goes beyond just filling houses, making toast, and torturing people. It’s so much more. The most important thing to take away is that you can create your scenarios, characters, and experiences, and take them wherever you want. Do your thing because that’s what I do.”
EA has confirmed that the next installment in the series will not be a direct sequel to SIMS 4. “We are not aiming to replace previous projects; we are just going to expand our universe,” explained Cate Gorman, CEO.
