Kendrick Lamar Sparks New Meme with “Not Like Us” at Super Bowl 2025

Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Performance

Kendrick Lamar has seemingly sparked a new meme with his performance of “Not the way we” at the Super Bowl 2025.

On February 10, Lamar took to the field in the Superdome, New Orleans, for the halftime show, making history as the first solo rapper to perform alongside other artists, much to the delight of fans.

Rivalry and Memorable Moments

During his performance, he took a jab at the rapper “God’s Plan” for suing Universal Music Group over the promotion of “Not like us.” While searching for a song to play for just a moment, Kendrick remarked: “I want to play their favorite song, but you know that they like to sue.”

His diss track dropped in May against Drake, where the latter was accused of being a “Certified pedophile” (Drake denied the allegations). This song is regarded as one of the most impactful diss tracks, marking Kendrick’s fourth single and breaking numerous streaming records.

Ultimately, he performed “Not like us” for the crowd in New Orleans, and fans on social media highlighted the joy on his face when he delivered the line: “Tell me, Drake, I heard you love them young,” a moment that quickly turned into a meme.

Fan Reactions

“This man said: ‘Tell Drake,’ and smiled at the camera like he just walked into a 90s sitcom,” one fan tweeted, while another proclaimed him “the victorious circle of the century.” Check out more reactions below.

As promised, Lamar, who had previously confirmed that SZA would join him, also brought out several major guests, including Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam and Serena Williams for a dance performance.

His appearance at the Super Bowl came after a monumental week for the rapper, who recently won five Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his track “Not like us.”

Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly released his sixth and final GNX album last November, which received a glowing five-star review, and “Not like us” was named the second-best song of 2024 by NME.
