Now Kendrick Lamar has revealed the special guest performers for his set. In a new ad to promote the play for Apple Music, Kendrick can be seen standing amidst a sensation of people passing at a distance. Kendrick says, speaking over the phone: “You know this field is a lot bigger than people think, so it's a must. Exactly. No, I was thinking about a guest performer.”

SZA then sneaks up on him to drown him in Blue Gatorade, a staple celebration seen during sporting events.

In a glowing five-star LP review, NME‘s Kyann-sian Williams wrote: “Lamar channels what can be interpreted as hate and negativity in a teachable moment, forcing you to lean into the purest emotion known to man: love. In a year that started with so much poison, Kendrick Lamar shares the antidote on “GNX.”

The rapper’s track “Not Like Us” landed the coveted second place on NME‘s The Top 50 Songs of 2024 list, which noted that the single “Packed intelligent, intensely explored character assassination into a brutal, fast-paced DJ club hit. Even though his savage, accusatory puns grabbed the headlines, it was Lamar’s dissection of Drake as a ‘colonizer’ that really highlighted his pure vitriol.”
