New Album Announcement

Perry took to social media today (December 20) to announce the release of the 15-track album 1432. “I WOKE UP and wanted to give my KatyCats an early holiday gift,” she shared.

“To everyone who HAS A HEART, I wish NO MORE TEARS FOR THE NEW YEAR. I’ll always be there for you, no matter if you’re up or down. 1432 is here, everything is fine!”

The singer’s message included four additional unreleased songs: “OK,” “I Woke Up,” “Has A Heart,” and the seasonal track “No More Tears For New Year’s.”

The album’s closing track, “OK,” is an upbeat, electric-guitar-driven pop anthem where Perry reassures her partner that she’s hopeful for a bright future.

“Hey, everything will be fine / I’ll always be there / It doesn’t matter if you’re up or down / Hey, what did I say? I’ll never let you drown. It doesn’t matter if you’re up or down.” she sings in the chorus.

Upcoming Tour and Support for Music Venues

In a two-star review, NME labeled the standard edition of “143” as “a serviceable but slightly dull collection in which Perry struggles to convey her old sense of fun.”

Perry will be launching a UK tour next autumn, which includes two performances at The O2 in London on October 13 and 14. She has pledged to donate £1 from each ticket sold to the Music Venue Trust. Remaining tickets can be found here.

The star’s connection to the UK grassroots music scene dates back to her early performances in the country in 2008, where she played small gigs around the capital. Reflecting on her decision to support MVT, she stated: “I’m proud to be donating £1 from every ticket for the UK leg of The Lifetimes Tour to the Music Venue Trust, to help venues like Water Rats and Scala, where I played my first gigs in The UK, continue to nurture a new generation of musical talent.”

In the meantime, Perry recently delivered an intimate one-off performance in London for a TV show called Night of a Lifetime, which is set to premiere on ITV1 tomorrow (December 21) at 6:30 PM GMT.

She also headlined Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball 2024 at The O2 earlier this month, sharing the stage with Coldplay.
