Kanye West Reveals He Was Expelled from the Grammys

Kanye West Addresses Grammy Rumors

Kanye West responded to speculation about being kicked out of the Grammy Awards 2025.

The rapper, known as Ye, received a nomination for Best Rap Song (‘Carnival’ featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Rich The Kid with Playboi Carti) last Sunday (February 2). However, he lost to Kendrick Lamar’s “not like us.”

Controversial Red Carpet Appearance

West faced backlash after he appeared on the red carpet with his wife, Bianca Censori, who wore a transparent dress.

The outfit featured a wool cover that she later shed to reveal an almost entirely see-through mini-dress, displaying her nude figure. This incident attracted media attention, especially after reports emerged that the police in Venice were investigating an “obscene” public incident involving the couple on a boat in 2023.

West also shared Polaroid pictures of Censori in her mini-dress on X/Twitter just before the Grammy event, alongside an image of them kissing.

Page Six reported that Ye and Censori were later escorted out of the Grammys as they appeared uninvited. It was suggested that the naked stunt was intended to promote the cover of the “Vultures 1” album, a collaboration between Ye and Ty Dolla $ign.

However, TMZ claimed that the rapper was indeed invited to the ceremony due to his nomination, and that they left of their own accord after walking the red carpet.

West later stated that journalist and former CNN presenter Don Lemon “sparked a hearing” about him and Censori being expelled from the Grammys in a recent Instagram post.

“This is the nonsense that started rumors about me and my wife being kicked out of the Grammys,” he captioned a photo of a smiling Lemon.

“Three decades of innovative music, and they always treat me like this.”

Lemon’s Response

Lemon subsequently responded to West’s video on Instagram. “First off, Kanye … No matter what you call me, I did not start rumors that you were kicked out of the Grammys. I actually corrected this,” he explained.

“I saw someone from your team who asked me to fix it since it was reported everywhere.”

He added: “Get your facts straight. You, of all people, call me an AC**N? … The hat that says ‘Make America Great Again’ should be a little too tight on your head.”

In a video update after leaving the Grammys, Lemon informed his followers that: “We spoke with a representative of Kanye, and they confirmed he was indeed invited; they said it was a fact, and that he was not expelled. That is the position from Kanye’s side.”

Lemon previously interviewed West at the Grammys, asking, “Kanye, when will the ‘Hooligan’ come out?” to which the artist responded, “Yes, I changed the name you to it. Soon, this year.”
