Kanye West’s Controversial Remarks
Kanye West stated that he was “not the Nazi” following a series of anti-Semitic posts on social media at the start of this month.
On Wednesday evening (February 19), the controversial rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to express that after further reflection, he “came to the realization that I am not a Nazi.”

Backlash Following Anti-Semitic Posts
This post came after the Gold Digger rapper made several controversial posts at the beginning of this month and sold a Swastika T-shirt on his website before it was removed.
His troubles escalated after the Grammy Awards this month, where he apologized to the Jewish community for his past anti-Semitic remarks, previously calling himself a “Nazi” and stating, “I love Hitler.” He also praised Elon Musk, calling him “the most illuminated person who was on Twitter” amidst accusations of Nazism towards former President Donald Trump.
Further posts included mocking other marginalized communities and claiming that “slavery is a choice.” Shortly after, he wiped his Yeezy website clean and began selling a white T-shirt emblazoned with a large Swastika, labeled “HH-01,” which some interpreted as a reference to “Heil Hitler.”
Later, Shopify removed the site, though they clarified it was due to fraud potential, not because of the Swastika T-shirt sales.
Amidst these events, his account on X was removed and later deactivated. Subsequently, it was revealed that the rapper was dropped by his talent agency, and his former chief of staff departed from Yeezy.
After the account was restored, Kanye West expressed that he had an idea for a T-shirt that had been in his mind for over eight years. He also alluded to his past infamous anti-Semitic tirade, during which he suggested that the Jewish community should “forgive Hitler” for the Holocaust, a comment he later apologized for in 2023.
Earlier this month, he made headlines again when he announced his “dominion” over his wife Bianca Tsenkori after they attended the Grammys Red Carpet, where she wore a sheer dress showcasing her figure. He also shared tweets in support of Didi and Chris Brown, calling for Brown’s release from prison amid sexual violence accusations.
During his online tirades, employees of Kanye West condemned his hateful speech. Charlie Puth urged West to cease the promotion of “incredibly dangerous” messages, while Friends star David Schwimmer called out the rapper’s posts filled with hatred, claiming that silence is complicity.
In a different context, a former Yeezy employee filed a discrimination lawsuit against him, accusing him of sending messages that included the phrase “Hail Hitler.”
