Ye’s Social Media Comeback

The rapper had been largely inactive on X and Instagram over the past year, facing bans on the former platform due to offensive remarks. However, he has been noticeably more active lately.

Among his recent posts, Ye thanked the Grammy Awards for the nomination of his song “Carnival” and praised The Weeknd’s track “Niagara – Vodopad.” He also took the opportunity to apologize to Harris, who recently lost her bid for the presidency within the Democratic Party.

Commenting on Harris, he wrote on Saturday (February 1): “Kamala seems to be a very good person whom I just want to apologize for her children.”

He also expressed support for Donald Trump, tweeting: “Trump returns to the office. You have returned a billionaire. The world may be in order.” A subsequent tweet read: “I took a chance of my life to wear a red hat, then he turned it black,” a likely reference to the iconic “Make America Great Again” hat.

Currently, the only account he follows on X is that of CEO Elon Musk. On Instagram, he only followed Taylor Swift for a brief moment before unfollowing her.

In December 2022, Ye was banned from Twitter after posting an offensive illustration. Musk confirmed the suspension was due to a policy violation regarding incitement to violence. Eight months later, Musk reinstated Ye’s account after receiving assurances he would not use the platform for harmful content. Upon returning, he was not permitted to monetize the account.

Ye has had a long-standing association with Trump, being a vocal supporter during the 2016 election. Although he distanced himself from Trump in 2023 after comments made about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, he reaffirmed his support in February 2024, stating: “Yes, of course, this is Trump all day.”

Recently, he shared snippets of new music during a DJ set in Tokyo, which featured references from disgraced rapper Diddy on the remix of the “Magic Don Juan” track. It is anticipated that these tracks will appear in his upcoming album “Hully,” announced during a listening event in China last September. West informed the audience: “I have a new album, it is called the ‘bully.’” The release date for the album or tracks remains uncertain.
