Ronnie Platt’s Health Update
The frontman of Kansas, Ronnie Platt, has revealed that he is battling cancer, which has led the band to reschedule their performances.
The 62-year-old vocalist, who took over from Steve Walsh in the iconic American progressive rock band in 2014, shared an update about his health on Facebook last Sunday (February 16).
“For all, I ask you, on Tuesday they diagnosed me with thyroid cancer, but before everyone gets worried, it has a 99% survival rate, and it has not spread,” Platt stated.
“It is localized to my thyroid gland. I just need to have the thyroid gland removed. I will focus on rehabilitation and return to the stage.”
He added: “I sincerely appreciate all the positive thoughts and prayers. I have completely amazing people supporting me!! As I see it, this is just a bump in the road, and very soon it will be behind me! So keep the good vibes coming!”
