Joy Crook Collaborates with Cano for New Single “Mathematics”

New Single by Joy Cruks

Joy Cruks has unveiled a new single titled 'Mathematics', featuring Cano. The premiere occurred during the most anticipated recording on BBC Radio 1 with Jack Sonders.

Exploring Human Connections

This track delves into themes of human connection and relationships, marking another noteworthy release in the musical journey of Kruks. It follows the successful release of Pass The Salt, featuring Vince Staples, which has emerged as the most streamed launch to date.

“Mathematics was inspired by a meeting with a French man who struggled to comprehend our situation; it wasn’t hieroglyphs, we simply fell in love, and he then tried to connect with my friends,” Kruks shares. “As I recognized this song more and sang it frequently, I realized it portrays the frustration of how easily love can blossom yet be met with disappointment when it isn’t reciprocated. It’s beautiful when a song acts as a soothing balm for the various struggles we face in life.”

Organic Collaboration

The collaboration came about naturally, according to Kruks: “Cano came to listen to the record alongside Blue May and me, and then he secretly recorded his verse for ‘Mathematics’ when I initially invited him to work on another track. He felt compelled to participate in ‘Mathematics’ and went into the studio without us, sending over his verse. It was heartwarming to see his genuine emotion in his contribution, almost like a small gift for this record. Kudos to Kane, it’s truly special to hear your take on love.”
