Current Projects and Health Journey
Jesse J is currently working on her first studio album in seven years, following her last releases, Rose and This Christmas, in 2018. She has also officially announced her upcoming album.
In February, reports from Sun revealed that Jesse has been collaborating with ONEREPUBLIC frontman, Ryan Tedder, on new music for her upcoming album. Previously, they worked together on the song “I Want Love.” Sources also indicate that Jesse hopes to announce the first single from her next album in Spring.
Last July, the singer, known for her hit “Price,” disclosed that she was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). She has faced several health challenges, including a miscarriage in late 2021, along with experiencing hearing loss in one ear temporarily in 2020.
Speaking at the Week Europe advertising event in London on April 3, Daily Mail, Jesse J spoke about her health struggles and how they “balanced” her career: “My health has always balanced me. When I was nine, I got a role in a West End musical, but then I was diagnosed with a heart condition and spent time in the hospital while still making the show. At 17, right after signing my first record deal and finishing school, I had a stroke.”
She continued: “Then, when I had to release my last album, I went deaf, and shortly after, I experienced a miscarriage. All of these events felt like they tried to hold me down.”
Jesse J and her partner, basketball player Chanan Colman, welcomed their son, Sky, in May 2023.
