Jenny of Blackpink Shares Her Thoughts on “Incredible” Collaboration with Doechii

Jenny Celebrates Collaboration With Doechii

Jenny Blackpink praised Doechii after two employees.

The singer “Alarm” showcased Jenny’s latest album “Ruby,” and the Korean artist previously revealed that she has been “showing” her cooperation with Doechii “for the longest time.”

Reflections on Her Musical Journey

During a recent appearance on Show Jennifer Hudson, Jenny reflected on working with the “amazing” performer Grammy on Extral, the fourth release from the album after “Mantra,” “Zen,” and “Love Hangover,” featuring Dominic Fic.

“She is the sweetest, the worst, most talented and (it was) so fun to work with her,” she said. “They say we would add different details based on what we both wanted. We aimed to share and ensure that we both felt good about it.”

In a four-star review of Ruby, NME stated: “After many years of studying everything from her acquaintances to facial expressions, Jenny turned the lens back on herself with Ruby, where she wields control over her own myths with stunning clarity. She affirms herself not only as a global star but also as a fully conscious artist, shaping her sound and vision with intention, signaling real growth.”

The record marks Jenny’s first work under her own ODD Atelier label, following a partnership agreement with Columbia Records. The label was established at the end of 2023, shortly after YG Entertainment announced that she and her Blackpink comrades would not extend their solo contracts with the company.

Jenny became the third member of Blackpink to release her debut studio album. Rose released “R” in December, and Lisa dropped “Alter Ego” last month. Meanwhile, Jisoo released her “Me” mini-album in early February. The quartet is set to embark on a group world tour at the end of this year.

In other news, Doechii’s “Alligator Butes Never Heal” earned her a trophy for Best Rap at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, with NME writing that she “falls into the morass in this release, but by the end, she finds comfort and strength, creating a mixtape more like a sound diary of her emotional journey.”
