JAWS has revealed their latest Christmas single, “Like This Year”, along with plans for their farewell concerts set for 2025.
Track Inspiration and Meaning
The new track from the Birmingham dream pop band captures the essence of the festive season. “I wrote this song a little while ago for Christmas at my parents’ house after reconnecting with a close friend I hadn’t seen in ages,” shares Connor Schofield.
“I’ve always wanted to create a Christmas song that steers clear of being cliché. I see this time of year as nostalgic and wistful, and I aimed to encapsulate that in both the sound and lyrics.”
“This track is dedicated to all the family I don’t see often enough, the friends I should meet more frequently, and all the relationships that haven’t panned out over the past year.”
The Band’s Journey
Formed in Birmingham in 2012, the band has since released three albums—Be Slowly, Simplicity, and The Ceiling—along with two EPs.
