Jamie XX has unveiled a new collaboration with Erykah Badu titled “Fu,” featured in the Deluxe Edition of his album “In Waves.”
Unexpected Collaboration
The partnership emerged from a chance encounter at the PRIMAVERA Festival Party, where both musicians were set to perform. When Badu faced technical difficulties during her set, she delivered an impromptu vocal performance. Jamie, who was in the audience, recorded the moment on his phone and later incorporated it into the track after reconnecting with Badu in London.
Deluxe Edition Details
The Deluxe Edition of “In Waves” includes five additional tracks along with the original album, Tweled Song. Among the new offerings are “FU” featuring Badu, “Do Something,” and previously released singles “This Is So Good,” “Let’s Do It Again,” and “Kill Demon.”
The expanded version of “In Waves” is now accessible on digital platforms.
