James Blake took the stage on Saturday Night Live, joining Timothée Chalamet to perform Bob Dylan’s “Three Angels.”

The Mercury Prize and Grammy Award winner accompanied Chalamet on piano for this performance, which follows the actor’s recent Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Dylan in Full Unknown Field.
Blake’s SNL appearance comes after a series of intimate piano shows in London and follows the release of his latest single, “Like the End.” The track, released through his CMYK label, features a music video directed by AI and filmed by John Rafman, along with a live video recorded at Real World Studios.

“We are witnessing the end of the ability to discern information—whether a video is real, whether a voice is authentic, or if the person you’re debating online is genuine,” Blake remarked about his new single. “This is a loss of faith in experts and a complete breakdown in our governments and advisors. While this may signify the end of an era, I hope it marks the beginning of more localized communities. When we gather in person, engage with each other meaningfully, and share music together, that is the start of something new.”
