Details on upcoming projects
On Christmas Eve (December 24), IVE dropped a surprise teaser for their forthcoming third mini-album, “IVE Empathy”. The first single will be released on January 13 at 6:00 pm KST, followed by the full album release on February 3.
The teaser features visuals of friends and lovers connecting—holding hands, hugging, and sharing secrets—while a snippet of the song plays in the background. Further details, including the track listing, are anticipated to be revealed in the coming weeks.
IVE’s recent activities
“IVE Empathy” marks the group’s return nine months after their previous release, the second mini-album “IVE Switch”, which debuted in April with the double singles “HEYA” and “Accendio”.
The six-member group spent a significant portion of the year on their “Show What I Have” world tour, which took place from October 2023 to September 2024 and included 35 performances across 28 cities. This was their first world tour following The Prom Queens’ Asia tour in 2023.
In November, IVE collaborated with French DJ David Guetta for the English-language single “Supernova Love”, which notably samples late Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” from the 1983 film of the same name.
In other K-pop news, girl group fromis_9 released their digital single “From” earlier this week. This track, dedicated to their fans, serves as their final release under Pledis Entertainment before their contract concludes on December 31st.
