Basht. has launched their latest EP 'Gorky and Perverted' via Laboratory Records.
Musical Exploration
This collection consists of six tracks crafted by Richard Maknamara from Embrace, following the group’s recent support performances with WunderHorse, Was Star, and BDRMM.
“Gorky and Perverted is a personal project that brings many uncomfortable emotions to the surface,” the group explains. “I wanted to delve into the darker aspects of being human—the pain we inflict, the pain we bear, and how these two often intertwine. These songs reflect my own battles with identity, control, love, and the damage we sometimes accept for the sake of connection.
“This EP isn’t easy listening; it shouldn’t be. It showcases the emotional extremes we typically keep silent. Gorba and Perverted serve as my way to authentically resist, to speak my truth without holding back.”
