In New Ajian, Legal Challenge Launched Against Court Decision Restricting Activities

New Jania Legal Challenge

New Jania (aka NJZ) has filed a legal objection to contest the court’s prohibition placed on Ador, which restricts the group from engaging in independent activities.

Details of the Legal Objection

The New Lygians submitted their legal objection to the Seoul Central District Court on March 21, as reported by Korea Dzhungang Daily. This action occurred on the same day the court ruled in favor of Ador and issued a ban preventing the female group from performing as independent artists.

On the same day as the legal objection, Parents from New Jaja also released a statement on Instagram, expressing their concerns regarding the court’s decision. “We believe that the ruling did not adequately consider the complete breakdown of trust experienced by the members toward Ador,” they wrote.

The New Jania team argued that they “did not have sufficient opportunity to properly present their experiences in court” due to the “expedited nature of the trial.” They highlighted that only one hearing was conducted for the court’s prohibition at the beginning of the month before a decision was reached.

“Furthermore, due to the information imbalance between Ador and Hybe, they had complete access to all data regarding the entertainment activities of the members, while the members had to contact relevant parties individually to seek information,” they continued. “The pressure associated with participating in the trial, alongside fears of retaliation, hindered many from cooperating.”

“First and foremost, until the exclusive contracts are terminated, we have diligently fulfilled our obligations without any violations,” they added in their statement. “In contrast, Ador and Hybe have continued to treat us unfairly behind the scenes, ultimately eroding the trust in our relationship. It is only a matter of time before the truth comes to light.”

On March 23, NJZ participated in ComplectCon in Hong Kong, marking their first appearance since their reprint in February. During their performance, they debuted a new song titled “Pitstop,” but also announced a pause in accordance with the court’s decision.
