Ider has unveiled his third album titled “Late to World,” featuring the lead track “Killing the Game,” released through Nettwerk.
Album Overview
This latest creation, which reflects Ider’s distinctive church-star-style, was crafted during the summer and autumn of 2023. It follows previous singles such as “Know How It Hurts,” “Disabling,” “Girl,” “You Do Not Know How to Drive,” and “Theory of Affection.” This album marks a significant evolution in their sound, now incorporating live drums while blending elements of melancholic British new wave, electric pop, and alternative influences.
Themes and Focus
“Late to the World” delves into themes of self-discovery and the journey into adulthood. The twelve tracks on the album tackle societal pressures and personal development. The central track, “Killing the Game,” addresses the struggle of social anxiety and the feelings of being left out.
“Killing the Game” encapsulates the experience of social anxiety, portraying the sensation of being at a party, observing others reveling, while feeling as though everyone else is “killing the game” while you remain on the sidelines,” the group shares.
