I Released the New Single ‘Relation’ Featuring a Sample of Suzanne Vega’s ‘Dinner’

I returned with my third mini-album “Ive Empathy”, along with the music video for the title track “Relation”.

Title Tracks and Collaborations

“Relation” is one of the two title tracks for “Ive Empathy”, with the other being the song “Rebel Heart”, which was released last month. Wonyoung is recognized for a “colorist attitude”, often collaborating with Aive Seo Ji-Eum. The song notably processes the theme from the “dinner of Tom” by Suzanne Vega.

“Until now, we have focused on the topic of love for ourselves, but this time we have made a leap forward, addressing the concept of sympathy to foster communication with individuals across various generations, eras, and perspectives,” said Empathy’s standout during the press conference for its release.

Other tracks featured on “Ive Empathy” include “Flu”, “Thank You”, “Tko”, and “You Wanna Cry”, the latter of which interpolates Whitney Houston’s original hit “I Want to Dance with Somebody”.

Recent Activities and Tours

Ive Empathy marks IVE’s first release in nine months. Previously, in April 2024, they debuted their second mini-album “Ive Switch”, which featured the tracks “Heya” and “Accendio”.

During this interval, I completed my first-ever world tour titled “Show What I Have.” The group performed 37 concerts across 19 countries in regions such as Asia, the USA, Europe, and South America. I also made my debut at Lollapalooza last year.

In November 2024, IVE collaborated with French DJ David Guetta to release the English-language single “Supernova Love”, which draws inspiration from the late Japanese composer Sakamoto’s “Happy Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” from the 1983 film of the same name.
