Hot Milk Expresses Discontent with New Single “Unequipped Inerselland”

Hot Milk’s New Release

Hot Milk has unveiled their latest single, “Unjustified Ingerland,” from their upcoming album 'Corporation Pop', set to be released via Music for Nations.

Commentary on British Identity

The latest track from the Manchester band offers insights into contemporary British identity, featuring gang vocals recorded with friends in frontman Jim’s Salford Front Room.

“This song emerged quickly and forcefully; it was a necessary creation,” explains Khan Mi. “In modern England, understanding our position amidst the complex landscape of identity politics is challenging. Who are we? What do we stand for? Why does poverty continue to grow? Why are the elderly suffering? Why is the NHS in disarray? This is a hyperbolic exploration of our reality.”

Jim adds, “The most interesting aspect of ‘Ingerland is not true’ is that it reflects a tattoo Han has had for years, symbolizing the state of the nation that often acts independently of its people, for better or worse. We thought it was perfect to channel that feeling into our music. This was written late one night in his front room in Salford, surrounded by all our friends after tea.”

‘Corporation Pop’ was produced by Jim along with Zakom Jones and KJ Strock. Mi, who has a background in politics, emphasizes the local essence of the album: “Manchester is the best city in the world. We formed this band in Manchester, and it’s an intrinsic part of who I am. It has to resonate in the art we create because it has shaped me.”
