Savage’s Background and Impact

The executive began his musical career as an early employee at Shazam and has held positions at Pandora, Universal Music, BandLab, and HMV before launching the artificial intelligence company Musiio in 2018.

Musiio was acquired by SoundCloud in 2022 to enhance the music platform’s detection capabilities. After the acquisition, Heisel Savage became the vice president of Music Intelligence at SoundCloud, leaving this role in December 2024.

According to Syntho, “Savage’s previous experience in selling a musical technology company positions him as an ideal leader to advance the company further.”

Josh Baker, who founded Syntho to “revolutionize electronic music education,” is a British DJ and producer, and also co-founded the Hide and Seek festival, an electronic music festival in the UK.

Baker remains the founder and face of the company, showcasing his video “Introduction to …,” which has gained significant popularity on the platform.

Savage further noted, “Syntho does not require additional capital at this time, and the revenue is exceeding what I observe daily as an angel investor in this space.”

“The Syntho product clearly resonates with its audience. Josh and the Syntho leadership team welcomed me warmly. I am excited for 2025.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Baker stated, “I started Syntho back in 2020 because I felt that the existing options for learning music production were not derived from the best in the business.”

“I aimed to learn from top talents, those who create hits and perform at sold-out venues. When I found that wasn’t available, I decided to create it myself. I began producing videos, as many sought my help, and it naturally grew from there.”

“As we grow, it is essential to be strategic and focused. Heisel has worked in the field of musical technology for 18 years and has a proven track record in successfully selling a company, making him an excellent fit for the next stage of Syntho.”
