Hamilton Leitauzer has released a new single, “Burn Boats,” from his forthcoming album “This Side of the Island.”

The latest single will be featured on Leitauzer’s upcoming record, which was co-produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, alongside Leitauzer and his wife, Anna Stumpf.
Discussing the new single, Leithauser shares, “I completed this song in the spring of 2024, and during the summer, my friend sent me a link to the Joe Rogan event called ‘Burn the Lods’. Initially, I was taken aback, thinking, ‘Oh, damn! This is terrible!!’ But after listening to the podcast, I realized he didn’t have a clue what he was talking about, and I found myself laughing at the nonsense.”
Song Inspiration
“The song reflects being at a party, falling for someone, and contemplating leaving with them. The party feels dull, and you just want to hurry that process along. Who can’t relate to that? I penned a refrain for my friend Lahrish, heavily inspired by Funkadelic, with guitar riffs that definitely echo the style of ‘Low’ by David Bowie.”
The album was finalized in Dessner’s Long Pond Studio during the spring of 2024, following initial recordings at Leithauser’s home studio in New York, titled Hut the Burge Hut.
