The single marks Halsey’s first material since her fifth and final studio album “The Great Imprint,” released in October of last year. Last weekend, they performed it live for the first time on March 7 during their slot at the Sips & Sounds festival in Austin, Texas.

Performance Highlights

During Halsey’s performance, she showcased a Babydoll dress, paired with a black curly hairstyle and black cowboy boots. The energy was palpable as they jumped and ran across the massive stage and catwalk.

The track features lines reminiscent of bikini murder, with Halsey singing: “Yes, sir, no, sir, on all fours/are you ready to get what you were waiting for?/I am not a criminal, I am just a wild child/I’m not a bad girl, I just like this wild style/I’m heavy, I mean, I’m rude/just say a safe when you had enough during the chorus.

Alongside her 18-song setlist, Halsey delighted fans with a selection from her discography, including performances of “Roman Holiday,” “You Should Be Sad,” “Ego,” “Colors,” and many more.

Last month, Halsey mentioned that they would be performing several new songs during their 2025 North America tour for “My Last Trick.”

In a five-star review of “The Great Imitator,” NME noted: “Looking back at my recent catalog, the ‘Manical’ is more stylistically diverse, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ is more ambitious, but ‘The Great Imitator’ is the most honest album of Halsey, if you choose to believe her.”

The album also ranked number 39 on NME’s list of the 50 best albums of 2024, with the single “Lonely is Muse” making it onto our list of the 50 best songs of the year.
