Welcome Isaac Carpenter

The band took to their social media platforms to announce that Isaac Carpenter from Awolnation has stepped in as Ferrer’s replacement.

They accompanied the announcement with a photo of Carpenter, stating: “Welcoming Isaac Carpenter as a new Guns N’ Roses drummer.”

Carpenter has been a part of Awolnation since 2014 and has also collaborated with Duff McKagan, Adam Lambert, and A Perfect Circle.

Frank Ferrer’s Departure

Ferrer left the band after 19 years on March 19, marking his tenure as the longest-serving drummer. He joined the group in 2006, taking over for Brian Mantia shortly before frontman Axl Rose reunited with Slash and McKagan for the reunion tour. Previous drummers included Steve Adler and Matt Sorum.

In a statement on social media, the band expressed: “Guns N’ Roses announces the amicable departure of Frank Ferrer, the longest-tenured drummer in their legendary journey. The group thanks Frank for his friendship, hard work, and enduring presence over the past 19 years, wishing him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

“Frank first joined Guns N’ Roses during their show in June 2006, helping to solidify the rhythm section on subsequent tours, including their recent outings with the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last performance with the band occurred on November 5, 2023, in Mexico.”

His exit comes just months after Matt Sorum openly discussed his feelings regarding being left out of the band’s reunion, acknowledging that he now finds himself “much larger in the world” than he was when they first started.

In another development, GNR has been added to the lineup for the final concert of the Black Sabbath reunion.

The iconic heavy metal band will perform their last show at Villa Park in Birmingham, their hometown, on Saturday, July 5.
