Wildfires Impacting Los Angeles

Recently, five wildfires ignited simultaneously across various locations in Los Angeles, leading to the evacuation of over 180,000 residents. According to CNN, 24 confirmed fatalities have been reported, while Associated Press has indicated that there are 16 missing individuals.

Over the weekend, Guitar Center initiated a new program that will be active until February 28th. Guitar Center, alongside its Guitar Center Music Foundation, has committed to assisting musicians and music programs affected by the fires in Los Angeles by offering a one-time special grant to replace any destroyed instruments or equipment.

To qualify for this grant, applicants must adhere to several criteria: they must reside in Los Angeles, may be required to provide proof of loss or address, and will need to create an account to submit an application.

Music programs must fall under one of the following categories to be eligible: school music classes with student participation, after-school music programs not affiliated with the school, community music programs providing instruction, or music therapy programs that engage participants in music.

It’s important to note that the grant does not involve cash; instead, it exclusively covers the replacement of instruments or equipment, with a maximum cap of $1,500 per applicant.
