Grandfather Haley Williams Unveils His Long-Lost 1970s Album ‘Grand Man’

New Album Release

Hayley Williams from Paramore and ZAC Farro have released the debut album of the grandfather of the former Grand MAND MAN GRAND Man through Farro’s Records.

Musical Legacy

This collection features 13 tracks that were recorded in the 1970s but remained unreleased until now, showcasing the songs that Williams created in Frank Morris in Meridian, MS.

“I don’t expect anything, and I am too old to be famous,” Williams reflects. “But I just want to know that someone appreciated what I did and was touched by what they listen to. I want people to experience what it was like when everything felt authentic.”

The release came after Farro found the records during a tour. “I thought it was a crime that these songs were collecting dust on a shelf,” he shares.

Hayley Williams expresses her gratitude for her grandfather’s musical influence, stating: “Many people our age are extracting albums for tones and sounds that are impossible to recreate. My grandfather had a way of conveying raw emotions without overwhelming them, which is something we often struggle with in today’s tough world. It feels refreshing to hear something simple and genuine.”

The album “Grand Man” features collaborations with Williams’ friend and producer Frank Morris, incorporating elements of Nashville sound along with influences from artists such as Herb Alpert and Burt Bacharach. This collection includes songs that Williams wrote throughout his life, many of which were inspired by his relationship with his wife, Sharon.
