Glasgow Punk Band Soapbox Unveils EP “Lock In” and Drops New Single

New EP and Single Release

Glasgow punk group Soap Box is set to launch their new EP To “Block” on April 25, along with the release of their latest single “Do As You Said.”

Musical Influences and Themes

The band draws inspiration from acts such as The Damned, Soft Game, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Viagra Boys. Discussing their music, they state: “We all have a heavy bend of praise; while people continue to listen, we are happy.”

“Lock In” follows their previous EP “HAWD That,” with the release coinciding with their largest headline show to date at the Glasgow Art School.

In reference to the new single “Do As Ur Said,” vocalist Tom Rowen explains: “The lyrics reflect the poor experiences we’ve faced in the music industry. We often feel manipulated, and in a broader sense, we find ourselves in unempowered situations. The disappointment arises when musicians struggle to earn a living, while someone in a position of power continues to take advantage.”
