Their performance at the event was announced earlier this month and marked the group’s first appearance after the Coachella 2024 festival, which was their first concert since 2015.

Memorable Moments from the Show

The group took the stage at the KIA forum for their set, which included the 1995 hit “Just a Girl”, “Don’t Speak”, and “Spiderwebs”. You can view the footage below.

During “Just a Girl,” Gwen Stefani engaged the crowd in the lyrics challenging the boys with the line “I’m just a girl.”

Speaking about their recent reunion in an interview with NME in October last year, Stefani shared: “Without a doubt, it was so crazy. Not that we decided to do nothing or not hang out or not talk,” she said.

“Everyone’s life just happened. You know, the time when we stopped (in 2015) was when I went through my horrible family breakup – I don’t like to use the word ‘divorce’ because it is such an ugly word. But my life just exploded; it really did.”

She continued, “Many people ask: ‘Why did this take so long (without a doubt, to reform)?’ But when you have a family, eight years go by so quickly. Healing from what happened is a process I’m still navigating.”

The surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl, and Pat Smear also made a surprise appearance at the Kia forum, performing “Breed” with St. Vincent, “School” with Kim Gordon, and “Territorial Pissings” with Joan Jett, while Grohl’s daughter Violet took the microphone for “All Apologies.”

Earlier in the evening, actor Billy Crystal welcomed the audience, dressed in the same clothes he wore when he evacuated from Pacific Palisades earlier this month, where he lived for 46 years. He briefly spoke about the loss of his home.

Crystal also announced that U2 contributed $1 million (approximately £804,829). All proceeds will aid those affected by devastating fires, and donations can be made here.

The event was first announced earlier this month in support of the victims of forest fires, which claimed the lives of about 29 people and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.

Many musicians stepped up to assist affected communities after the fires. The Beigud Foundation donated $2.5 million for relief efforts. Paris Hilton also initiated a fund for fire-affected families, pledging $100,000 and encouraging up to $100,000 in matched donations. Dave Grohl also spent his birthday preparing meals for families displaced by the fires.
