Future Utopia Returns
Future Utopia is back with a new single “Don’t try this at home”, marking the first track from the forthcoming EP “Memory Boy.”
Production and Collaboration
The project is spearheaded by Grammy Award-winning producer Fraser T. Smith, who recorded the track at Smith’s Utopia studio in collaboration with The Earth. This single follows Future Utopia’s 2024 album “Django’s High.”
Musical Inspiration
“The track is an uplifting blend of lively performances and electronic basslines, featuring synths and vocals that draw inspiration from French disco, taking you back to the clubs of the late 70s and early 80s,” explains Smith. “I played it during our shows over the summer and it truly resonated with the crowd. I knew I had to release it, and it felt like the ideal way to ring in the New Year!”
Smith has collaborated with a variety of artists such as Adele, Stormzy, Gorillaz, Dave, and Sam Smith, earning a Grammy Award for his work on Adele’s 21 album. His previous projects under the name Future Utopia include “We Were We Still Are,” featuring collaborations with Beig Piig, Kae Tempest, and TOMI, as well as “12 Questions,” which showcased talents like Dave, Stormzy, and Kano.
