New single ahead of departure
K-pop girl group fromis_9 has unveiled their latest single “From” as they prepare to part ways with Pledis Entertainment later this month.

Last month, Pledis Entertainment announced that their exclusive contract with fromis_9 would conclude on December 31 this year, and it was mutually agreed that they would not extend the contract.
Fan dedication and gratitude
On December 23, the girl group released a fan-dedicated digital single “From” to show their appreciation to their supporters, known as flover, and to commemorate the conclusion of their partnership with Pledis Entertainment. The new track was penned and produced by member Song Ha Young.
“Deeper and deeper, all night / This fabulous time never ends / It was special because it was us, every moment / Follow me, in the same direction and at the same speed / Walk with me, this is not the end / The day we talked about forever, stay here” – they sing in chorus.
Group history and milestones
fromis_9 was formed in 2017 through Mnet’s survival show Idol School and made their debut in January 2018 with their first mini-album “To.Heart” under Stone Music Entertainment.
The group transitioned to Pledis Entertainment in August 2021 following a management change. Member Jang Kyu Ri departed from fromis_9 a year later to focus on her acting career, choosing not to renew her contract with Pledis Entertainment.
Throughout their tenure with the label, the girl group released popular singles such as “Talk & Talk”, “DM”, “Stay This Way” and “#menow”. Prior to “From”, their last release was the single “Supersonic”, launched in August 2024, which featured the titular track along with B-sides “Beat the Heat” and “Take a Chance”. NME has recognized “Supersonic” as one of the top 25 K-pop songs of 2024.
