Fox News Urges Boycott of Ethel Cain Following Her ‘Terrorist’ and ‘Depraved’ Remarks Advocating Violence Against Executives

Boycott Call Against Ethel Kane

Fox News has called for a boycott of Ethel Kane over her “terrorist” and “depraved” comments regarding executive assassinations.

Controversial Remarks Spark Outrage

Earlier this month, the musician shared her views on the high-profile murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was shot outside a Manhattan hotel in December. The incident prompted a manhunt that extended over several days, culminating in the arrest of Luigi Mangione. He was found with a three-page manifesto attacking the American health care system.

On January 10, Kane echoed similar sentiments and stated that while her stance wasn’t “reactionary,” violence “sometimes” was necessary. “It’s simple,” she wrote. “You make them fear for their lives and you hit them in the only place they were hurt; otherwise, nothing will be done.” She concluded her Instagram post with the hashtag “KillMoreCEOs.”

Her remarks have since generated significant backlash on the US cable news network, with panellists on an episode of The Big Weekend Show denouncing her comments as “sick” and “depraved,” likening them to “terrorism” and urging the public to “boycott” the singer (via Billboard).

“The answer is reporting violence,” remarked Guy Benson on the show. “Do you know who used the exact same mentality, the same language? Terrorists. This is real terrorism, which is what she’s talking about here… This should be a very clear black and white moral issue, and it’s frightening to see how much support this kind of sentiment has garnered.”

Further Comments and Reactions

Kane’s original post incorporated words from Labor Secretary Robert Reich, who condemned influential entities like the National Rifle Association, Big Oil, and insurance companies that could “buy Congress.”

“Even without trying to be reactionary or ‘edgy’ or stating this for shock value, I genuinely mean what I say,” Kane continued. “Corporations are laughing at the protests.”

“Why would anyone voluntarily step down from his throne, which he spent years building on the suffering of his fellow men? No one is visited by the ghost of Christmas future; no one changes their mind.”

She further asserted that provoking change was straightforward: “You make them fear for their lives and hit them where it hurts; otherwise, nothing will be done,” questioning why it was deemed a “radical” notion.

At the end of 2024, Mangione dominated the headlines for several weeks, amassing a cult following online, with supporters either taking his political beliefs seriously and branding him a “folk hero,” or simply labeling him a “hot killer” who’s “husband” material.

Since his arrest, Mangione has become an internet meme sensation, with variations of “#FreeLuigi” shared over 50,000 times on X/Twitter (according to BBC News), and two documentaries about him are already in production.

Back in December, Chris Rock humorously addressed Thompson’s death in his monologue while hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL), commenting on the Internet’s obsession with Mangione.

“Everyone is obsessed with how good this guy looks,” he stated. “If he looked like Jonah Hill, no one would care. He had already been given a chair.”

He added: “But he actually killed a person, a man! A man with a family, a man with children… I offer my sincere condolences to the Director General of Health… but you should also know that sometimes drug dealers get shot.”

Kane released her latest record, “Perverts,” on Jan. 8, a 90-minute drone and slow build that serves as a continuation of her trilogy of albums that began with 2022’s “Preacher’s Daughter.”
