Karin Crisis, the former frontwoman of the metal band Crisis, has initiated a crowdfunding campaign after experiencing a medical injury that has left her disabled and disfigured.
Crisis’s Battle with Illness
The lead of the band “Gospel Of Witches” has created a GoFundMe campaign, revealing that approximately two and a half years ago, she suffered a medical injury leading to her current condition after being prescribed topical steroids.
Crisis expressed the struggles she faces daily: “I am disfigured and endure unpredictable and severe bouts of pain, alongside various complications. I no longer recognize myself in the mirror, and that’s just one of my self-care challenges. I can only walk on one leg and have to limp for several blocks. Regular shoes are out of the question; I need them adjusted. My body temperature regulation is also off; I feel both hot and cold at the same time.”
She elaborated on Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome (TSW) and what she currently endures. “I must constantly create specialized dressings. There are hours during the day when I feel little to no pain and can work… but then I experience intense pain for various durations throughout the day,” she explained.
