Former Bloc Party Bassist Gordon Moakes’ New Band The None Unveils EP “Care,” Featuring the Energetic Single “On Automatic.”

Gordon Mokes Forms New Band

Gordon Mokes, the former bassist of Bloc Party, has created a new band called The None and introduced their upcoming EP titled, Care.

Meet The Band

The lineup features Mokes, vocalist Kay White (Blue Ruth, Youth Man), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels), and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds). The sound is characterized by a jangly guitar riff, powerful drums, and a resonant bass line. Combined with White’s unique and sharp vocals, this track brings an engaging and challenging experience. You can listen to the song on their Bandcamp page. Here.

Discussing the song’s creation, the band noted in a press release: “There was some uncertainty when we began writing it. We worried the main riff might sound too ‘jock rocky.’ Fortunately, Gordon and Chris devised some intriguing elements that shifted the vibe and added tension. Once Kai added vocals, it quickly became one of our favorites to perform live.”
