Former Baekho singer has left the long-standing label Pledis Entertainment after 13 years with the company.
Contract Expiration and Future Plans
On March 6, Pledis Entertainment announced on Weverse that Baekho’s contract would expire on March 14 and would not be extended. “After thorough and honest discussions about the future direction of his career, Baekho and Pledis Entertainment mutually agreed to terminate the contract,” the statement read.
“Since his debut as a member of Nu’est in 2012, Baekho has built an impressive career as a singer-songwriter, expanding his influence into musicals and various other areas,” Pledis Entertainment added. “Thanks to his remarkable passion and talent, Baekho has made a significant impact across numerous entertainment fields.”
As a token of appreciation to fans for their support, Baekho will release his final digital single on March 14 to “mark the completion of his official activities as an artist under Pledis Entertainment.”
“We are sincerely grateful to Baekho for his collaboration over the years. We genuinely hope that his future endeavors will lead to an even brighter path, and we wish him all the best as he embarks on this new journey,” the company expressed.
Baekho’s last release was the single “Nutty Nutty” featuring Jesse, released in September 2024. This track represented his third musical release of the year, following the album “Love or Die” and the single “Wet & Wild.” Additionally, in 2023, he collaborated with then-label mate Ji-Won from Fromis_9 on the duet “What We Are.”
