New Single Announcement
Fontaines DC is set to release their latest single, “It is amazing to be young,” at midnight on February 21. This comes after a series of teasers shared across their social media platforms.
Preview of the Track
Yesterday, the Dublin-based group previewed the track, sharing a snippet featuring the vocals of frontman Grian Chatten over acoustic guitars accompanied by an uplifting melody. The lyrics convey: “It is amazing to be young / sometimes I wake up, and it is dark / performs a ritual that puts me in a role.”
The new single is a follow-up to their fourth album, “Romance.” Released last summer, “Romance” marked the band’s debut with XL Recordings and was produced by James Ford.
Fontaines DC also announced the single alongside artistic visuals showcasing a vinyl sleeve featuring a faded, multi-colored pattern. They are nominated for the International Group of the Year at the Brit Awards this year, alongside Amyl and The Sniffers, Future Islands, and Linkin Park.
The group is set to kick off a series of international live dates, starting with performances throughout Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
