Flyte shares new single
Flyte has unveiled their first new music of 2025 with the single “I’M Not There,” recorded in collaboration with Brit, award-winning producer Itan Jones.
Collaboration and songwriting
The British duo, consisting of Will Taylor and Nika Hill, crafted the track over a two-month period at Johns West Country home studio, working alongside the producer known for his collaborations with Paul McCartney, Ray LaMontagne, and Laura Marling.
In addition to their own projects, the duo also writes for other artists, including Holly Humberstone and Sigrid, while expanding their songwriting seminars, which now include digital sessions for international participants.
Insights on the new track
“I Am Not There” was captured in a single live session at the start of the album recording process. Taylor explains, “Although regular therapy and the ongoing practice of writing songs have been incredibly helpful over the years, the struggle with self-love, independence, and the baggage of family trauma can still weigh heavily.”
“This song originated during a particularly heavy cloud of thought, with a troubled mind. I felt completely absent. From the few times we performed this song live, it resonated deeply with people of all ages, who quickly shared their personal connections with it – it’s something that you have to experience yourself.”
