Today (March 27), the singer-songwriter, Tahliy Debrett Barnett-Rodnaro, unveiled the dramatic visual effects for the track, directed by Jordan Hemingway (Wolf Alice, Young Fathers). North-West—Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s 11-year-old daughter—appears in the video alongside Kevin Smith and Jake Shane.

The video opens with influential figures, including comedian Shane, discussing how Twigs “wrote (‘children’s things’) when she was still a teenager,” noting that while they expected a certain style, this album is entirely different.

Shane, while portraying a Twigs member alongside Smith, adds: “It looks like a rave in Shoreditch.” Smith humorously mispronounces Twigs’ name while questioning the artist’s reasoning.

Smith refers to Twigs’ past relationships with Matti Hili from 1975, and actors Robert Pattinson and Shia LaBeouf, asking rhetorically if “she was under a viral” during those times.

Twigs initially engages with Smith’s character, depicted as an “Executive Director,” who inquires about her age and requests to hear “children’s things.”

Twigs responds: “Yes, and I think you’ll really appreciate what we created. After watching this, I hope you’ll understand why we requested a bigger budget for music videos.” However, Smith’s character retorts, “This is no longer the ’90s—this isn’t even the ’00s, you understand?”

Before beginning a choreographic routine with her fictitious team, Twigs passionately declares how “figures and numbers mean nothing” in art.

She suggests that the twig “hooks (s) with rapper” and increases its “BPMS” before welcoming North-West, who delivers her verse.

Twigs recently discussed why she invited North-West to feature on “children’s things,” stating that her “energy is so inspiring.”

“Indeed, it needs this child energy,” she remarked. “This is needed by someone with an unwavering perseverance and a strong point of view at the age of 11.”

She further praised North-West’s confidence, recalling, “I thought to myself, yes, she should add her perspective to the song. That’s why she came and wrote about her faith, which I believe is truly powerful.”

Meanwhile, North-West conducted her first interview about her upcoming debut album “Delpout.”

In a glowing five-star review of “EUSEXUA,” NME stated: “Twigs successfully demonstrates that the fusion of music, movement, mind, soul, and body can be transformed into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience.”

“She injects her assured creativity and spirituality into tangible form. As the final track of the album suggests, ” –You have one life to live, do it free‘What could be a better message to leave it with?”

This month, Twigs completed her UK and European tour, ahead of additional dates in North America (Find the remaining tickets here). She will also perform at Coachella 2025 next month and at various European festivals, including Roskilde and Primavera Sound.

In a four-star review of Twigs’ London show last week, NME described “Children’s things” as “a true crowd-pleaser,” praising the overall performance as “a comprehensive two-hour showcase of her exceptional talents accumulated over more than ten years.”
